A lot of times in conversation the subject of our company, our “competitors” and what we do is brought up over and over in terms of “web design”. Yes, one of the services we offer our customers is web design or rather a comprehensive work flow of web development but we are not a “web design company”. We firmly believe that small businesses, organizations and individuals wanting to promote themselves should not restrict themselves to one form of communication. We believe that a well produced and organized web site is critical in this day and time and it’s also one of the most cost effective means of reaching a mass audience but web searches do have their limitation.
If you look through our site notice that we also offer services related to print design, digital portable media and photography. Not only do we use a lot of the same tools in the development process but I can tell you from our own experience that combining different forms of media and networking strategies are more effective that relying on just one, especially for individuals, small businesses and organizations.
Have you noticed that newspapers, magazines and TV are not staying in their media namesake? I find it very interesting that our local newspaper now has video on its web site, radio talk show hosts now are offering podcasts and streaming video of their show and some magazine have their own TV show and vice versa.
One important reason for this strategy is the audience is rarely tied down to one location. As much as I love the ease of use of the Internet I enjoy the portability of magazines or books for instructional purposes, I love following a related web forum while I watch a popular TV show like Heroes, 24 or Lost but most important nothing beats good face to face communication and the ability to offer others a business card, brochure or note-card with your web address on it.
We never design or develop any of our products in a bubble. Consistent branding between logos, print material, web sites, etc. is crucial to promoting your product or service.
